In August 2013, Printronix announced the End of Support on the Line Matrix P5 Series Printer. End of Support will be effective on December 1, 2013 and will impact spare parts, repair services, advanced exchange parts, maintenance contracts and firmware/documentation/software.
The new Printronix’s P8000 family of Line Matrix printers is the ideal replacement for P5000 series printers. The P8000 offers a broader portfolio of products that support the same features and functionality as the P5000 series enabling a seamless and easy transition. In addition, it delivers:

Datamax-O’Neil’s New NETira Label Design Software
Datamax-O’Neil has announced a new version of their label design software called NETira Label Design software – Powered by Bartender UltraLite.
Every Datamax-O’Neil class printer will now ship with Seagull BarTender UltraLite free and will replace the current version of NETira LD.
The new NETira Label Designer is based on Seagull BarTender v10.1 and will provide users with the ability to easily and quickly create a label on Datamax-O’Neil branded printers only.
Motorola Unveils Next-Gen ET1 Tablet
Motorola announced three enterprise mobile computers running the most popular version of the Android operating system supported by new Extensions by Motorola Solutions security features and the fourth generation of RhoMobile Suite’s cross-platform development framework.
First off, Motorola is expanding the industry’s largest portfolio of purpose-built, Android-based devices with the introduction of the ET1, MC40 and MC67 enterprise mobile computers running the Jelly Bean version of the Android OS and fortified with Mx enhancements.
The Jelly Bean version of the Android OS provides new features important to enterprises including security enhancements, better graphics support and improved logging and support capabilities.
Zebra’s ZXP Series 1 and Series 3 New Driver Enhancements

The newly announced update to the ZXP Series 1 and ZXP Series 3 printers includes the Zebra Windows Driver Version 5.01, a new unified driver supporting both printer models. Epson Introduces Their New On-Demand Color Label Printer the ColorWorks C3500
According to industry research by the Freedonia Group, label demand in the U.S. will reach a projected $19.1 billion by 2017, representing an annual growth of 4.2 percent. With this increased label adoption, many manufacturers are looking for ways to combine operational flexibility with higher quality and output, while simultaneously reducing production costs and use of label materials. To help manufacturers produce vibrant, full color labels, Epson is introducing its new ColorWorks  C3500 Label Printer with Just In Time Color Labeling at PACK EXPO Las Vegas 2013.
The ColorWorks C3500 system is designed to meet the needs of manufacturers producing labels for high mix, low volume applications that require multiple label variations. Within the U.S. label market, more than half of all jobs fall under orders of 50,000 or less. By leveraging the new printer’s on demand color labeling technology, 4-color ink capability, and increased print speed and image quality, manufacturers can reduce total labeling costs by up to 50 percent.
