How the Updated CR7020 Protective Case Helps Mobile Devices Thrive

Posted November 3, 2021

https://codecorp.com/products/cr7000-series

This past August, Code Corporation launched the disinfectant ready CR7010 battery backup case. Designed for the mobile healthcare workforce, the case doubles the battery life of iPhones and allows for full clinical sanitization protocols without causing device damage.

Now, the updated CR7020 protective case offers several improvements over the CR7010, notably its compatibility with the latest iPhone models and sizes.

Unlike most consumer-grade cases, the CR7000 series protective cases hold iPhones in a full enclosure for maximum protection. For most healthcare and other industry segments around the world such as retail and logistics, mobile scanning is extremely convenient, familiar for users, and helps improve patientcare and customer service alike.

Jana Buchanan, Senior Product Manager of Hardware for Code Corporation, had additional comments. ”We are excited about expanding our mobile device product line to include options for additional iPhone sizes.  This new product line allows us to support our customers with more options, more sizes, more flexibility.”

Mobile device barcode scanning delivers expanded efficiency for point-of-care, point-of-sale and logistics teams and extending the durability and longevity of a device helps cut costs and enhance productivity. Is there a downside to mobility?

Mobile devices can create unintended risks for patients, customers, and employees. Because mobile devices are handled by multiple employees to scan and manage sales and inventory, they also need to be able to withstand disinfection protocols and occasional drops. The CR7020 provides protection for these and other scenarios, keeping employees and devices safe.

The CR7020 case, like previous models, offers bi-directional data pass-through and an easily swappable, external battery power that more than doubles the life of an iPhone. Its flexible battery charging system includes multiple workspace preset options, which can be configured exactly how you need.

At a glance, the case indicates the battery’s charge status. In busy environments, the last thing you need is a team member guessing how much charge is left in a device. This, and many other features, make the CR7020 case a true standout for iPhone productivity.

Improve COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution with Code Corp Technology

Posted January 29, 2021

With Coronavirus vaccine administration in full swing, keeping on track with your distribution timeline is an essential but vulnerable process. It can be difficult and stressful to monitor and track the vaccines as they travel through the supply chain from production and shipping to pharmacy and patients. With the added concern of volatile vaccine expiration, it is crucial that you have access to your HIS software at a moment’s notice through your mobile device. However, long workdays may drain your phone battery and taking the time to manually enter barcodes into your mobile device is an avoidable stress in your staff’s daily workflow.

With the healthcare industry in mind, Code Corporation has designed a barcode scanning solution for your iOS and Android mobile devices to convert the built-in camera into an enterprise-grade barcode scanner. Their disinfectant-ready, fully enclosed iPhone battery cases will also increase efficiency in your healthcare operations by reducing downtime from low batteries.

Convert Your iPhone Camera into a Barcode Scanner with Code’s Cortex Decoder Software

Does your HIS offer integrated mobile barcode scanning? With growing concerns about reducing patient care costs and mobile device maintenance costs, it is now more critical than ever that fewer devices take care of a greater number of tasks. Combining the familiarity of smartphones with enterprise-grade functionality and reliability, Code’s Cortex Decoder software transforms your iOS or Android device’s built-in camera into a fully functioning enterprise-level barcode scanner. Offered in annual licenses, this software gives you the chance to kill two birds with one phone. You can now operate your EHR software while using the built-in camera on the device to scan barcodes as well.

  • Most supported barcode symbologies – Code Cortex Decoder provides the most advanced bundle of decoding algorithms in the industry and reads all major 1D, 2D, and postal barcodes
  • Unrivaled professional support – Code Professional Services make SDK integration easy. Engineers and experts at Code will work directly with your team for optimal results

White Paper : iOS Compatibility

Posted October 29, 2015

IOSWhat is it?

Not all barcode scanners or data capture devices are compatible with Apple iOS devices, and for those that are, a significant amount of testing and development are required to assure proper device operation. However, after a huge demand from small and medium-sized business owners to incorporate iPads, iPhones, and other Apple devices into their workforce management workflow, Apple invested extensive time and resources into certifying iOS devices with select data capture devices. Now, business owners have the ability to connect their Apple device to a data capture device via Bluetooth or a physical sled or cradle in order to conduct asset tracking, point of sale, inventory management, and other applications.

When is it coming?

iOS compatibility exists today. Many businesses ranging from small to enterprise-level are using iPads, iPhones and iPods to perform inventory management, asset tracking, and mobile point of sale activities. Hardware devices such as barcode scanners, label printers, receipt printers, cash drawers, and RFID readers are now equipped with software utilities that allow for connection to your preferred Apple device.
