Datalogic Discontinues the QuickScan QD2110 and QD2130

With the introduction of advanced technology in recent new QuickScan product launches, Datalogic has announced the obsolescence of their QuickScan QD2100 scanner series.

To replace this older model, Datalogic highly recommends migrating customers to the QuickScan QD2131 linear imagers. Datalogic will be able to deliver a better price performance product to meet customer needs with the newer QD2131 imager, just launched in September of last year.

The newer QuickScan QD2131 linear imager has improvements in the following features:

  • Longer Depth of Field (DOF)
  • Wider Field of View (FOV)
  • Longer, sharper and brighter scan line
  • Better look and feel (same as the QuickScan 2D QD2400)
  • Shared peripherals (accessories) with the QuickScan 2D QD2400 product family

SATO Retires the M84xxSe/S8408/S8412/S8424 Thermal Print Engines

SATO has announced the discontinuation of its M8460Se,  M8485Se, and M8490Se industrial print engines and all of their related accessories.

Reason for Retirement: The NEW S84ex/S86ex series was released in November 2014 which has a superior feature set and is a compatible replacement for discontinued units.

Last Time Buy Order: Dec 30, 2015 - Estimated date based on availability depending on model.

Effective Immediately: M8465Se RH Standard and LH Opposite and M8459Se are out of stock and discontinued.

End of Service: December 30, 2020 - Spare parts and service will not be available after this date.

SATO will honor all warranties in place and maintain our service obligation by supporting and servicing discontinued printers through SATO America, as long as parts are available

Discontinuation Notice for the Datalogic Falcon X3 Mobile Computer

With the recent launch of the next generation Falcon X3+ mobile computer in August of 2014, it is now time to announce the obsolescence of its predecessor, the highly successful Falcon X3 mobile computer. This will apply to all models of the Falcon X3 along with special versions as well.

The new Falcon X3+ ruggedized mobile computer from Datalogic represents the next evolution of the Falcon product line. Following the form factor of its predecessor, the Falcon X3+ mobile computer offers swift, accurate reading capabilities of both 1D and 2D symbologies. Laser models offer speedy reading of 1D linear bar codes as needed at both near and far ranges. The Falcon X3+ mobile computers also provide imager-based technology for customers opting for the flexibility of omnidirectional scanning of both 1D and 2D codes. This also now features the addition of a powerful 2D Extra Long Range option.

Datalogic’s Memor Obsolescence Notice

After years of delivering successful applications to worldwide retailers, Datalogic is now announcing the obsolescence of the Memor mobile computer product line. Datalogic has recently upgraded the Memor to a much more powerful device, the Memor X3 mobile computer, which is intended to be the ideal replacement of the current device now approaching its End-of-Life.

End of Life for the Datalogic QuickScan Mobile Scanners

Datalogic has announced that their popular QuickScan Mobile line of cordless scanners will be coming to end as component availability has allowed  a very limited production rum of these units. Current QuickScan  Mobile customers are invited to place their last purchase orders as soon as possible. Availability of the last run of devices will vary on overall purchase volume.

Unfortunately, Datalogic regrets to announce that all key components needed to produce QuickScan Mobile products have been exhausted before the expected ‘last purchase’ date. As a consequence of this situation, Datalogic will not be able to produce anymore QuickScan Mobile units; therefore, orders can no longer be accepted for the QuickScan Mobile readers.

Zebra R2844-Z Discontinuance Notice

Zebra has announced the discontinuance of the R2844-Z desktop HF RFID printer. No orders for the product will be accepted after October 30, 2013 unless inventory is still available. Orders placed for these units by October 30 will ship by their desired delivery dates, subject to production lead times.

Service, parts and support will continue to be available for approximately three (3) years from the last date of shipment—approximately until December 31, 2016.

No replacement product for the R2844-Z desktop HF RFID printer is planned at this time. However, a new desktop UHF RFID printer is planned for launch later this year. Additional information on this new printer will be provided at launch.

The Zebra QL420 Plus Discontinuance Notice

Zebra has announced the discontinuance of the QL 420 Plus mobile label printer. The replacement for this printer is the QLn420. The QL 420 Plus product will continue to be available through Zebra distributors until November 22, 2013, or possibly longer based upon the distributor’s available inventory. Service, parts and support will continue to be available for approximately three years from the last date of shipment (until February 22, 2017).

This is also a good time to switch to the new QLn420 mobile label printer. Remember, the new QLn420 provides all the benefits of the QL 420 Plus and more, in a smaller size!

  • Faster print speed at 4 inches per second
  • More wireless connectivity options, including Bluetooth 3.0 and 802.11a/b/g/n
