The Trimble Juno T41 Now Shipping with Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean”

Posted June 27, 2013

2013-06-27_1037The rugged Trimble Juno T41 has seen a major OS update with a new version of the Android Operating System, Android 4.1 (“Jelly Bean”).

Even though it will improve the user experience,  provide more security options, better battery efficiency, and a more robust Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities,  the upgrade to Android 4.1 will not increase the cost of the unit.

Trimble has also integrated several additional features to support software applications and ease development time: Assisted-GPS, USB tethering, and USB host capabilities from JAVA for easier integration with hardware peripherals. With the move to Jelly Bean, there is a new minimum RAM requirement. All T41 devices will now ship with 512MB of RAM. The 256 MB option is no longer available, for either Android or Windows Embedded Handheld (WEHH) configurations.

The Juno T41 now provides all the possibilities and conveniences of a consumer mobile device but in a rugged design making it the ideal work tool for any environment. Ensure your mobile device investment with a device you can depend on today and well into the future.
