Datalogic’s Lynx Firmware Update v1.86

Datalogic is pleased to announce firmware release v1.86 for Lynx mobile computers. This release is available for Windows Embedded Handheld (WEHH) 6.5.

This release provides a number of improvements that have been requested by our customers. Our commitment is to continue providing the best ‘outof-the-box’ experience in the industry with Datalogic mobile computers.

  • New locked web browser with advanced support options
    • Kiosk mode functionality
    • Configurable context menu
    • Whitelisting for approved web sites
    • Extends Microsoft Internet Explorer
    • Advanced Configuration via Datalogic Desktop Utility (DDU) and Datalogic Configuration Utility (DCU)
    • Meta tag support for scanner, keys, and system data/control
  • Scanner performance improvements
    • Snappier bar code reading with 2D imager models
    • New Code 128 option to improve reading labels on curved surfaces with laser scanners
    • Default setting changes to improve performance out-of-thebox
      • Postal Codes, GS1 DataBar Limited and MaxiCode disabled by default
      • QR Code now enabled by default
  • SDK Improvements
    • Added data manipulation methods to set label prefix, suffix and separators
    • NET SDK enhancements to provide extended AIM code ID information
  • Wi-Fi Summit drivers upgraded to v3.3.21 to improve synchronization and roaming
  • Wavelink Avalanche Update
    • Added task bar control to device profiles
  • Camera – faster image capture and processing (WEHH models only)
