Pioneer POS Stealthtouch S All-in-one POS terminal

Retail Reseller News reports:

Pioneer POS debuted its StealthTouch S-Line, which features 15-inch LCD touchscreen, built-in thermal receipt printer with front paper loading, and modular design for easy maintenance and repair. The new , which will be shown publicly for the first time at the upcoming RSPA Show in Las Vegas, includes all of the features of the company’s StealthTouch-M5. Its compact footprint (measuring 16.25 in. x 12.75 in. x 15 in. and weighing 25 lbs.) makes the terminal perfect for retail and hospitality environments where real estate and cable management are concerns, RRN.Com was told by Michael Flores, Director, Business Development for Pioneer POS. Flores also pointed to self-service as another intended market, with the StealthTouch S-Line functioning as the kiosk.

“Two spring-loaded thumb screws hold the printer mechanism in place, so it’s very easy to change out the printer should something go wrong,” Flores said. The printer handles three-inch-wide paper with roll diameter of 2.8 inches (240 feet). With auto-cutter and 23 lines per second performance, it includes Epson and OPOS drivers. Integration of the printer adds only $150 to the price of the StealthTouch-M5, according to Flores, and makes the new S-Line one of the very few terminals to offer this capability.

Powered by Intel, the StealthTouch S-Line can be configured as a diskless thin client, but has the versatility to run demanding applications under Windows XP Pro. Connectivity consists of 10/100/1000 Base T network, six USB, four Serials, Parallel, and 24-V Powered USB. It supports several touchscreen technologies to meet end-user needs, including Resistive, InfraRed, and Capacitive. Additional features include spill-proof front panel, Wi-Fi wireless network, MSR, biometric fingerprint reader, and 2×20 rear customer display. According to Flores, Pioneer POS expects to introduce several additional new products shortly.
