The SREDKey is an encrypted key pad with a two line by 20 character LCD backlit display and an encrypted MagStripe reader. Comes equipped with physical security protection and is PCI PTS certified. The Derived Unique Key Per Transaction (DUKPT) key management comes with either Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) or Triple Data Encryption Standard (TDES). There is no shortage of options to select from with the SMD2 series. Star gives you three options to best fit what you need for your environment. All three-options come with the standard printer driven interface but also has the ability to connect via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, MFi certified Bluetooth, or Ethernet. It is important to choose the right ribbon to print on your label. Choosing the wrong type of ribbon can result in a poorly printed barcode label, the ink can smear or fade.

There are three types of ribbons: wax, wax/resin, and resin. Please ensure you have a thermal transfer capable printer, we recommend the Airtrack DP-1. It is most reliable, compact, and affordable printer in its class.

Determine the proper ribbon size, choose a ribbon that is equal or less than your printer’s maximum print width where is it enough to cover the surface of your label.
