Unitech Introduces MT650 Fixed Mount Computer
Unitech introduces the new MT650 Fixed Mount Computer, designed to give customers full control over employee attendance, access control, loyalty programs, and work-in-progress applications.
With a Windows CE 6.0 operating system, the MT650 offers an open platform for quick and easy integration. The terminal has its own SDK (software development kit), enabling developers to create their own applications straight out of the box. The MT650 offers various options for capturing data, including proximity readers (EM125KHz, HID and Mifare), barcode reader and biometric reader. Unitech Releases MS380 Wireless Barcode Scanner
Unitech has released the new MS380 bluetooth barcode scanner. Lightweight and ergonomically designed, the MS380 is perfect for long hours of heavy scanning in various environments. With an IP43 environmental seal and the ability to withstand multiple 4-foot drops to concrete, the MS380 is built to meet the demands of the workplace, whether healthcare, warehousing, or commercial service.
The MS380 cradle offers more flexibility with its Class 1 Bluetooth module that allows the scanner to roam up to 100 meters from its access point. The MS380 also features a vibrating alert when it goes out of range, preventing data loss by telling the user to get back in range.
The MS380 offers reliable barcode scanning with a replaceable battery pack that allows it to scan for more than 8 hours. It is able to read 1D and GS1 barcodes, and delivers a scan width of 200mm and 300mm depth of field. Unitech Releases MS246 Card Reader
Unitech has released the newest addition to its family of magnetic stripe readers, the MS246. This intelligent and programmable magstripe reader offers exceptional performance in a small package. The uniquely designed housing allows the MS246 to be mounted in various orientations with threaded inserts or Velcro, and a 6-foot cable increases its flexibility.
The MS246 is able to read up to 3 tracks of magnetic stripe card data regardless of swiping direction or speed. The user can easily recognize successful reads with a beeper and tri-color LED indicator. The output format can also be customized with its own user friendly Windows-based MSR Reader Configuration Manager. The MS246 is ideal for a variety of applications including POS and Security.
Unitech Disinfectant-Ready Healthcare Products Receive Antimicrobial Certification
The Unitech PA600 Mobile Clinical Assistant (MCA) handheld computer and the MS337H healthcare scanner incorporate antimicrobial materials in their disinfectant-ready plastic housing. This antimicrobial enclosure provides an additional layer of protection against the exponential build-up and spread of potentially threatening bacteria and microbes.
To be considered antimicrobial under the JIS Z2801:2000 test standard, surfaces must be tested and verified by approved test labs. Surfaces meeting the antimicrobial requirements receive an antimicrobial rating, or log reduction value, of greater than 2.0.
When tested against the buildup of Methicillian-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA, or “Staph”), Unitech’s antimicrobial/disinfectant-ready plastic housing received an antimicrobial rating of 4.81, which translates to a 99.998% percent reduction in MSRA accumulation.
Performing similarly in other tests, Unitech’s antimicrobial/disinfectant-ready housing received an antimicrobial rating of 7.20, or 99.999% resistance against E. coli buildup.
While antimicrobial surfaces provide an added layer of protection against germ accumulation, standard healthcare procedures require regular cleaning and disinfection of any point-of-care device. Unitech’s antimicrobial/disinfectant-ready housing is designed to withstand daily cleaning with common healthcare cleaning solutions.
The usage of disinfectant wipes enhances the antimicrobial properties of the plastic while leaving it’s disinfectant-ready attributes unaffected and allowing its color to remain constant. In aging tests conducted over an eight-week period, the plastic did not discolor or crack when wiped with disinfectant wipes three times a day.

Unitech MS337 Barcode Scanner Reads Barcodes from Computer and Phone Screens
