Rugged, wireless mobile computer delivers in the petroleum, propane, wholesale gasoline, lubricant and C-store industries.

Janam, a leading provider of rugged mobile computers that scan barcodes and communicate wirelessly, today announced that ADD Systems, a leading provider of computer solutions for the petroleum, propane and convenience store industries throughout the US and Canada, will use Janam XM66 rugged mobile computers for its latest direct store delivery (DSD) solution.

ADD Systems required a device to support its barcode-based DSD application which automates the process of organizing direct store deliveries and verifying them against a store’s price book. Janam’s XM66 first earned consideration due to its Class I Div 2 UL certification for hazardous locations. After thorough evaluation, the rugged XM66 was selected for its advanced barcode scanning, lightning fast processing, full 3.5” display size and compact/lightweight body.

“Customers rely on our solutions to run their mission critical businesses in very hostile environments,” said Robert Culbertson, COO of ADD Systems. “We are committed to delivering technology-driven value to our customers so we put the XM66 through its paces. It passed with fl ying colors and we are pleased to offer it as part of our DSD solution.”

“The automatic identification and data capture needs of the petroleum, propane, wholesale gasoline, lubricant and C-store industries present many unique challenges, especially as it relates to harsh or unyielding operating environments,” said Harry B. Lerner, CEO of Janam. “ADD Systems has an exceptional team dedicated to technology solutions and performance that understands this market very well. We are delighted that Janam’s XM66 met ADD Systems’ rigorous criteria and look forward to supporting their needs in hazardous locations with innovative and reliable technologies.”
