Disinfecting Your Mobile and Handheld Devices

In the midst of the current COVID-19 pandemic, it’s more important than ever to keep surfaces clean and safe – including handhelds and mobile devices. Here’s how to safely accomplish this task without harming your devices.

To disinfect scanner/device surfaces, we recommend dampening a cloth with one of the two following solution:

  • Isopropyl alcohol (70% solution at a minimum)
  • Unexpired household bleach (5-6% sodium hypochlorite) – 1/3 cup of bleach diluted in 1 gallon of water

Remember to power off devices prior to cleaning and to never spray or pour liquid solutions directly onto your device.

The CDC also recommends wearing disposable gloves when disinfecting surfaces. Be sure to always wash your hands after gloves are removed.
