WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
Featuring Bluetooth® wireless technology (GBT model) or narrow band radio communications with Datalogic's STAR Cordless System™ (GM model), the Gryphon 4500 wireless readers provide maximum flexibility to solve any end user application with the best technical solution.
WIRELESS CHARGING
One of the most important technical innovations that the Gryphon 4500 wireless scanners achieve is the battery recharge through an inductive charging system, which enhances the reliability of the entire solution, lowering the total cost of ownership because it eliminates the need for contacts' cleaning and maintenance procedures. The maximum reliability offered by the Gryphon wireless charging technology means 24/7 activities with no stops for maintenance or repair and top-level operating productivity and performance.
SIMPLE TO USE AND DEPLOY
The Gryphon I 4500 omnidirectional imager provides snappy reading performance on all common 1D and 2D codes. High Density (HD) models are available for reading smaller, condensed codes as well as a dedicated version with red illumination optics to support Digital Watermarking.
Datalogic's Motionix™ motion-sensing technology enables the scanner to intuitively switch into hand held mode when the device is picked up. When placed back into the stand, it seamlessly returns to stand mode. The adjustable position cradle provides the flexibility to use the scanner in presentation or stand mode while it's charging.

What barcode types can the Datalogic GBT4500 scanner read?
The GBT4500 features an omnidirectional 2D imager that reads both common 1D and 2D barcodes, including QR codes and other matrix formats. This versatility makes it suitable for general purpose applications across warehouses, retail, and logistics environments. We offer this scanner as a complete kit with charging base and USB cable for immediate deployment.
Does the GBT4500 support wireless connectivity options?
Yes, the GBT4500 provides maximum flexibility with two wireless options: Bluetooth wireless technology or Datalogic's proprietary STAR cordless system. Both options eliminate cable constraints, allowing operators to scan from various distances and positions. Contact us today to discuss which connectivity option best fits your warehouse or logistics operation.
What is the wireless charging system on the GBT4500?
The GBT4500 introduces Datalogic's innovative contactless wireless charging system through the included WLC4090-BK-BT base station, which enhances reliability and eliminates wear from traditional charging contacts. This technology reduces maintenance downtime and extends the scanner's operational lifespan. The two-position base provides flexibility for both presentation and stand mode charging.
How does the GBT4500 compare to the earlier GBT4400 model?
The GBT4500 builds on the proven Gryphon series foundation with the new contactless wireless charging system, offering improved reliability over the GBT4400's traditional charging method. Both models feature omnidirectional 2D imaging and Motionix motion-sensing technology, but the GBT4500 represents the latest advancement in Datalogic's general purpose scanner lineup. Available from us with full support and warranty options.
What aiming technology does the GBT4500 use?
The GBT4500 features a highly visible single-dot aimer that clearly defines the reading zone and helps target specific barcodes on sheets or products with multiple codes. The steady, dim deep red illumination is easier on operators' eyes during extended use compared to flickering illumination systems. This design reduces operator fatigue while maintaining accurate scanning performance.
Is the GBT4500 suitable for mobile and presentation scanning applications?
Yes, the GBT4500 is designed for versatile general purpose applications including handheld, presentation, and stand-based scanning scenarios. The two-position base station provides flexibility to switch between presentation and stand modes, while Datalogic's Motionix motion-sensing technology automatically detects when the scanner is picked up or placed down.
