Datalogic STAR Cordless System™ and Bluetooth Wireless Technology
The Gryphon™ 4200 series represents the premium range of hand held scanners from Datalogic for general purpose applications.
Designed with people in mind, the Gryphon 4200 wireless reader stands out with an elegant and trendy design, unchallenged ergonomics and outstanding reading performance. The Gryphon I GD4200 readers' ability to capture bar codes from near to far, to read both high-density and low-resolution codes, to decode hard-to-read, poor or damaged codes and to easily read bar codes from mobile devices make these readers the perfect choice for today's and tomorrow's applications.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS
Featuring Bluetooth® wireless technology (GBT models) or narrow band radio communications with Datalogic's STAR Cordless System™ (GM models), the Gryphon 4200 wireless readers provide maximum flexibility to solve any end user application with the best technical solution.
WIRELESS CHARGING
One of the most important technical innovations that the Gryphon 4200 wireless scanners achieve is the battery recharge through an inductive charging system, which enhances the reliability of the entire solution, lowering the total cost of ownership because it eliminates the need for contacts' cleaning and maintenance procedures. The maximum reliability offered by the wireless charging technology means 24/7 activities with no stops for maintenance or repair and top-level operating productivity and performance.
EASY TO USE FOR MAX EFFICIENCY
The Gryphon 4200 wireless scanners utilize Datalogic's Motionix™ to automatically switch into the 'ready-to-read' scanning mode and to activate the distinctive 'soft line viewfinder' which helps the operator to easily target the code to be read.
The Datalogic's exclusive patented 'Green Spot' for good-read feedback directly on the code is ideal under dim lighting conditions or noisy environments.
READY TO BE REGULARLY CLEANED AND DISINFECTED
Most of the working environments now have requirements that scanners need to be regularly cleaned and disinfected. The Gryphon 4200 series exploits Disinfectant-Ready enclosures, designed to withstand regular daily cleaning with harsh disinfectant solutions commonly used in a healthcare environment.

What barcode types can the Datalogic GBT4200 scanner read?
The Datalogic Gryphon GBT4200 is a 1D linear imager that autodiscriminates all standard 1D barcode formats, including GS1 DataBar linear codes, postal codes, and stacked codes like GS1 DataBar Expanded Stacked. Its advanced imaging technology enables it to read high-density codes, low-resolution barcodes, and even poorly printed or damaged codes with exceptional accuracy.
Is the GBT4200 compatible with mobile devices and tablets?
Yes, the GBT4200 features Bluetooth wireless technology that allows it to connect to any Bluetooth v3.0 compliant device, including iPhones, iPads, and Android devices. This wireless capability eliminates cable limitations and enables seamless data transmission to mobile platforms, making it ideal for modern warehouse and logistics operations.
How does the wireless charging and battery life work on this scanner?
The GBT4200 features wireless charging capability through its base station, allowing you to charge the scanner without physical connectors. The Lithium-Ion battery delivers approximately 33,000 scans per charge, combined with batch mode storage for over 1,200 barcodes, ensuring reliable data collection even when out of range from the host system.
What is Datalogic's Motionix technology and how does it improve scanning?
Motionix is Datalogic's motion-sensing technology that automatically detects the natural actions of the operator to switch the scanner into 'ready-to-read' mode when picked up. This intuitive feature eliminates the need for manual mode switching or mechanical switches, streamlining the scanning workflow and improving operator productivity in general-purpose applications.
What environmental conditions can the GBT4200 withstand?
The GBT4200 is rated for operating temperatures from 0 to 55°C (32 to 131°F) with IP52 particulate and water sealing protection, making it suitable for warehouse and logistics environments. It also features 1.5-meter (5-foot) drop resistance onto concrete surfaces and 16 kV ESD protection, ensuring durability in demanding workplace conditions.
Can the GBT4200 be used for hands-free scanning or presentation mode?
Yes, the GBT4200 includes a 2-position base station cradle that supports both hands-free and presentation-style scanning modes. The scanner features Datalogic's patented 'Green Spot' for good-read feedback, which provides visual confirmation and can serve as an aiming system when the cradle is positioned at 45 degrees, improving accuracy and productivity in noisy environments.
The Datalogic GBT4200-WH-WLC Barcode Scanner is also known as
