Datalogic 98201030121-011253 Fixed Barcode Scanner

The Magellan 9800i is the first scanner capable of reading both 1D and 2D barcodes seamlessly without requiring item orientation by the cashier. It supports all standard 1D codes including GS1 DataBar linear codes, stacked codes like PDF417 and MicroPDF417, 2D codes including QR Code and Data Matrix, and optional support for Digimarc digital watermarks. This comprehensive decoding capability makes it ideal for high-throughput retail environments where checkout speed is critical.

The Magellan 9800i uses high-performance digital imaging technology to increase checkout performance in busy retail environments. Its integrated customer-facing mobile device reader enables mobile commerce, allowing customers to scan barcodes from their phone screen or paper coupons while the cashier continues scanning regular items in parallel, significantly reducing total transaction time. The scanner's ability to read items at any orientation eliminates delays caused by cashiers needing to reposition items.

The Magellan 9800i features a striking design with a lower bonnet height that allows better repositioning of POS touchscreens, payment terminals, and receipt printers to accommodate ADA customers. The large horizontal window is ergonomically positioned for both standing and seated cashiers, and the centered speaker provides audio feedback with .wav files for greater fidelity. These design improvements enhance the customer experience and reduce cashier strain during long shifts.
