The Fargo HDP8500 delivers variable print speeds depending on your ribbon configuration: 7 seconds per card for black-only (K), 12 seconds for black with overlay (KO), 24 seconds for full-color YMCKO, and 31 seconds for dual black panels with color (YMCKOK). These speeds make it ideal for high-throughput credential issuance in demanding environments.

The HDP8500 accepts standard CR-80 cards (3.375" x 2.125") and CR-79 adhesive-back cards, with card thickness ranging from .009" to .040" (9 mil to 40 mil). The printer's print area extends edge-to-edge on CR-80 cards, maximizing your design space for ID badges and credentials.

We offer multiple encoding modules for the HDP8500, including 125 kHz HID Prox readers, 13.56 MHz contactless encoders (iCLASS, MIFARE, ISO 14443 A/B, ISO 15693), contact smart card encoders for ISO7816 cards, and ISO magnetic stripe encoding with dual high- and low-coercivity support on Tracks 1, 2, and 3. This flexibility supports virtually any credential technology requirement.

The HDP8500 supports a comprehensive range of ribbon configurations including full-color YMCKO (250 prints), dual black YMCKOK (200 prints), fluorescent options YMCFKO/YMCFKOK, single-color resin ribbons (1,000 prints), and dye-sublimation black (500 prints). We also offer rewritable technology that requires no ribbon for specialized applications.

The HDP8500 features both USB 2.0 and Ethernet connectivity with an internal print server, enabling centralized or remote ID card issuance across your organization. This dual-interface approach supports flexible deployment in enterprise, government, and service bureau environments.

The HDP8500 includes a two-year warranty on both the printer and printhead, with unlimited printhead passes when using UltraCard™ media. The printer operates reliably in temperatures from 65° to 80°F and humidity levels of 20–80% non-condensing, making it suitable for standard indoor facility environments.
