Zebra WherePort Data Networking

Versatile Zebra WherePort - Zebra's WherePort is used as part of Zebra's WhereNet real-time locating system (RTLS) solutions. The WherePort proximity communication exciters indicate an asset's proximity to a known area by triggering WhereTag asset tags to transmit an alternate "blink" pattern. When a WhereTag asset tag passes through the WherePort exciter magnetic field, the asset tracking tag initiates a pre-programmed and typically faster blink rate to allow more location points as the tagged asset traverses a critical threshold—for example passing through a shipping/receiving dock door or from one zone to another. Multiple WherePort IV exciters can be interconnected to provide a larger coverage area for especially large thresholds such as very large dock doors or areas where there may be signal blockage.
