Zebra Location Solutions offers the WhereWand II Rtls configuration tool. The WhereWand II configuration tool uses a hand-held computer and an adapter kit to enable users to configure all Wheretag asset tags, Wherecall telemetry Messaging tags, Whereport proximity exciters, and WhereLan location sensors. The WhereWand II configuration tool is compliant with the ISO/IEC 24730-2 air interface standard.The WhereWand II has a simple user interface that guides the operator through the process of reading or setting device parameters. A built-in bar code scanner allows for fast entry of tag ids. The WhereWand II to Wheretag wireless communication is initiated by tag id and is not dependent on being in an isolated environment. The WhereWand II uses the ISO/IEC 24730-2 compliant wireless interface to set or read back programmable parameters stored in the Wheretag. Keep alive blink rate, alternate blink rates and durations, and responses to WherePort exciter fields are examples of these parameters.The WhereWand II can also communicate wirelessly with WhereLan location sensors (Los). The location sensors can be triggered wirelessly to blink the leds, reboot, or set the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway. WhereWand II to location sensor range is typically greater than 60m (200ft) and utilizes the standard ISO/IEC 24730-2 dsss air interface.The WhereWand II communicates with the WherePort III and WherePort IV with a physical cable to set and read WherePort parameters such as id, power level, and WherePort count.The WhereWand II includes a standard handheld mobile computer, a charging cradle kit that has a US power cord and a continental europe power cord, handheld mobile computer adapter to 15 pin connector, a Wherenet cable (15 pin to 15 pin), and a carrying case that contains a WhereWand II adapter unit and software for the mobile handheld computer. The WhereWand II is also available as an adapter kit without the handheld mobile computer. It is compatible with the Motorola MC9090, MC9190, or MC9200 series handheld mobile computer.
