Frequently Asked Questions
What are Zebra PLS-204 Labels designed for?
Zebra PLS-204 Labels are self-laminating LaserBand wristbands designed primarily for healthcare patient identification and hospital admissions. They feature a protective self-laminating seal that shields patient information, barcodes, and text from moisture and hand sanitizers, ensuring durability throughout a patient's stay. The labels can be printed on standard laser printers without requiring specialized wristband equipment, making deployment quick and cost-effective.
Can I print both wristbands and labels on the same sheet?
Yes, the Zebra PLS-204 Labels allow you to print both patient wristbands and chart labels on a single 8.5x11" sheet, which streamlines patient admission workflows. This dual-purpose printing capability reduces processing time and material waste while maintaining barcode readability on both the wristband and accompanying documentation. We offer this solution to help healthcare facilities accelerate their check-in procedures.
What printer type do I need for Zebra PLS-204 Labels?
Zebra PLS-204 Labels are designed to work with standard laser printers—no special wristband printer is required. This compatibility eliminates the need for expensive dedicated equipment and allows you to integrate wristband printing into your existing office infrastructure. The adhesive-free areas around form edges and holes prevent printing jams and reduce maintenance costs.
How many labels come in each box?
Each box of Zebra PLS-204 Labels contains 1,000 sheets with 32 labels per sheet, providing a substantial supply for high-volume healthcare environments. With individual label dimensions of 2.625x1" (67x25mm), you have flexibility in how you configure your wristband and chart label layouts on each sheet.
Are these labels suitable for secure patient chart storage?
Yes, Zebra PLS-204 Labels are available with hole punches specifically designed for securing wristband labels into patient charts. The self-laminating protection ensures that printed information remains legible and protected from typical hospital environments, including exposure to hand sanitizers and moisture. This makes them ideal for long-term chart documentation.
What makes the self-laminating feature important?
The self-laminating seal on Zebra PLS-204 Labels protects patient information and barcodes from moisture, hand sanitizers, and general wear—critical factors in healthcare settings where wristbands face constant exposure. This protective layer extends the usability of the wristband throughout a patient's hospital visit while maintaining barcode scannability for clinical workflows.
