Frequently Asked Questions
What are Zebra PLS-203 Labels designed for?
Zebra PLS-203 Labels are self-laminating LaserBand direct-print wristbands designed for healthcare patient identification. They enable printing of both wristbands and patient chart labels on a single 8.5x11" sheet using standard laser printers, with a self-laminating seal that protects patient information and barcodes from moisture and hand sanitizers. The labels are available with optional hole punches for securing into patient charts, making them ideal for streamlining patient admissions without requiring a special wristband printer.
How many labels come per sheet and box for the PLS-203?
The Zebra PLS-203 Labels provide 42 labels per sheet, with 1,000 sheets per box. Each individual label measures 2.625x0.75" (67x19mm), allowing for efficient batch printing of patient wristbands and chart labels simultaneously.
What printer types are compatible with Zebra PLS-203 Labels?
Zebra PLS-203 Labels are compatible with standard laser printers and are SR compatible, eliminating the need for specialized wristband printing equipment. The self-laminating design and adhesive-free areas around form edges and holes prevent printing jams and reduce expensive printer maintenance requirements.
What barcode symbologies can be printed on Zebra PLS-203 Labels?
Zebra PLS-203 Labels support both linear and 2-dimensional barcode symbologies including Code 128, Code 39, UPC-A/E, EAN-8/13, PDF417, DataMatrix, and QR codes. This compatibility ensures seamless integration with existing healthcare information systems and barcode scanning infrastructure.
Are Zebra PLS-203 Labels suitable for high-moisture healthcare environments?
Yes, Zebra PLS-203 Labels feature a self-laminating seal that protects patient information and barcodes from moisture and hand sanitizers, making them ideal for high-moisture hospital and clinical environments. The durable lamination extends wristband usability while maintaining barcode readability throughout patient stays.
Can I print both wristbands and chart labels from the same sheet?

This capability speeds up patient admissions workflows and reduces the need for separate label printing processes, improving operational efficiency in healthcare facilities.
