Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Verkada LIC-WP-5Y-RNW-K and who should use it?
The Verkada LIC-WP-5Y-RNW-K is a 5-year renewal license for Verkada Workplace K-12 surveillance camera software, designed for educational institutions managing campus security and monitoring. We offer this license renewal to schools and districts that need to maintain continuous access to Verkada's cloud-based video management platform for K-12 environments. This renewal option ensures uninterrupted surveillance capabilities across your institution's camera network.
What is the difference between the K-12 and standard Workplace licenses?
The Verkada Workplace K-12 license is specifically tailored for educational institutions with features and compliance designed for school environments, while the standard Workplace license serves broader commercial applications. The K-12 version includes specialized tools for campus safety and student monitoring workflows common in educational settings. We offer both variants in multiple term lengths to match your institution's budget and planning cycles.
How long is the license term for the LIC-WP-5Y-RNW-K?
The LIC-WP-5Y-RNW-K provides a 5-year renewal license term for Verkada Workplace K-12 software. This extended term offers cost savings compared to shorter renewal periods and ensures your surveillance system remains operational throughout a typical school planning horizon. We also offer alternative terms including 1-year, 3-year, and 10-year options if you need different coverage periods.
Is this a renewal license or a new license?
The LIC-WP-5Y-RNW-K is a renewal license (indicated by 'RNW' in the part number), meaning it extends coverage for an existing Verkada Workplace K-12 deployment rather than activating a new system. Renewal licenses are available from us for customers whose current license term is expiring or about to expire. If you need a new initial license instead, we offer capacity licenses (CAP) with similar term options.
What surveillance features does Verkada Workplace K-12 software provide?
Verkada Workplace K-12 is a cloud-based video management platform that provides centralized monitoring, recording, and playback of camera feeds across your school campus. The software includes features like motion detection, video search, user access controls, and integration with other security systems to support comprehensive campus safety operations. Contact us today to discuss which specific features align with your school's security requirements.
Can I upgrade from a shorter license term to the 5-year renewal?
Yes, we offer renewal licenses in multiple term lengths (1-year, 3-year, 5-year, and 10-year) so you can adjust your coverage period at renewal time based on your institution's needs and budget. Upgrading to a longer term like the 5-year option typically provides better cost efficiency per year compared to renewing annually.
