Symbol DS 3407 Barcode Scanner Model Overview

The DS 3407 industrial barcode scanner from Symbol Technologies uses digital imaging technology to accurately capture and transfer images (such as for digital document storage) as well as all types of two-dimensional (2D) and one-dimensional (1D) barcodes. The DS 3407 offers the high performance typically found only in laser scanners. The DS 3407 comes equipped with a charge-coupled device (CCD) image sensor, which allows more accurate capture and processing of barcodes at a faster pace than other digital scanners. In addition, the scanner's omni-directional scanning functionality lets operators quickly capture barcodes from any angle, eliminating the need to line up barcodes with laser lines. The DS 3407 offers USB functionality and a fast transfer rate.

In automotive, aerospace, medical and other heavy manufacturing environments, a wide variety of bar codes are typically in use, including 1D and 2D bar codes as well as permanent bar codes, known as direct part marks (DPM). The DS3407-DP provides manufacturers with a single flexible device capable of capturing all 1D and 2D bar codes as well as every type of direct part mark including dot peen.
