SpectraLink NetLink SVP Server Telecommunication Equipment Model Overview
The NetLink SVP Server is a required hardware component of the system that ensures excellent voice quality is maintained in a shared wireless voice and data network. The NetLink SVP Server can support up to 400 users, depending on average Wireless Telephone usage. As the Wireless Telephone user roams throughout the facility, the call is handed off between access points.
The Polycom SpectraLink 8000 SVP Server is a dedicated network appliance that helps ensure excellent voice quality for SpectraLink 8020 and 8030 wireless telephones operating on a converged Wi-Fi network. SVP Servers work in conjunction with SVP-enabled Wi-Fi access points to prioritize voice packets and manage bandwidth for voice and data applications. Network administrators can set a maximum number of simultaneous voice calls allowed on the access points, making sure the bandwidth needed for data applications is available. SVP Servers are designed for high reliability and require minimal setup and administration.
