Guest I am looking for a way to scan bar codes on all the devices we have in all the practices within our organization. This would include bar codes on laptops, computers, wireless access points, printers, and scanners. Optimally, we would like to be able to use a scanning device that could scan the bar codes, store the information on the device and then upload to a computer via USB later on.

I would suggest the Unitech PA600 as a suitable mobile device that will allow you to scan your items in the field. This device can run a simple spreadsheet application or even dedicated asset tracking software like RedBeam and ASAP offer for more detailed tracking. The PA600 can be easily docked to a Windows PC via a USB cable to allow for batch updates.
