Guest We have a couple of non related companies that will need bar code readers in the near future. We have "greeting" cards which we need the equipment to assign a bar code and be able to read for inventory and shipments. We have another company in which we will need to assign bar codes for inventory control of equipment (goes out to jobs and is returned) and inventory of the products we sell. What do I need to assign and read bar codes ?

To create a bar code all you will need is a label design software like Bartender Pro and a suitable label printer like the Zebra ZM400. With this combination you will be able to design any kind of bar code label you will need for your tracking purposes. Once labeled, we can use either tethered scanners like the Honeywell 1300g to input scans into a PC or even go completely mobile with a Motorola MC55A.
