Guest I am looking for a bar code reader suitable for mounting in a school bus to read school ID tags. We are doing integration with a wireless modem. Do you have a reader that uses 12VDC and outputs RS232 data? We will be reading a large standard code 39 font.

We offer a range of fixed bar code scannners that could easily be mounted in a vehicle. The Motorola MiniScan series offers several scanner types including an omnidirectional model which would speed up scanning due to its large reading area. Rs-232 and USB are both standard interfaces but the only issue we will face is that scanners work off of 5VDC so a power regulator would be needed to step the power down.
