UPC and QR codes are 2 different types of codes. The UPC code is a linear bar code scanner and pretty much any scanner can read this type. The QR code is a 2D bar code which require a full imager scanner to be read which could also read the UPC code. The Honeywell Xenon 1900 would be a suitable scanner to read both types of codes and any other bar code that is in use today.
