As the leader in 2D area-imaging technology, Honeywell\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s latest hand-held device combines high-performance scanning on a platform that can keep up with the most demanding conditions in the supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>Granit is at the forefront of 2D Area-Imaging, which is slated to grow at more than 15 percent per year through 2016 &#8212; six points higher than the aggregate growth for all hand-held scanners in the regions, according to a report from VDC Research Group. More manufacturers and logistics companies are adopting 2D area-imaging in the workflow, from warehousing to pharmaceutical distribution to parcel delivery.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Honeywell\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s leadership in the rapidly growing supply chain vertical allows us to invest in technologies that provide the most durable housings with the most aggressive scanning performance in the industry,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Taylor Smith, director of product management, Honeywell Scanning &amp; Mobility. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153With our continued focus on warehouse and distribution applications, the Granit 191Xi was specifically designed to accompany many of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcodesinc.com\/cats\/terminals\/\">forklift-mounted computers<\/a> and devices that we currently have deployed.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Following the acquisitions of\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcodesinc.com\/lxe\/\">LXE<\/a> and EMS Technologies\u00c2\u00a0in 2011, the Granit 191Xi further demonstrates Honeywell\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s commitment to serving the warehouse and distribution applications with innovative technologies. Engineered with Adaptus Imaging Technology 6.0 and the TotalFreedom 2.0 development platform, the device is fully integrated with Honeywell deployment solutions. With Honeywell\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcodesinc.com\/honeywell\/remote-mastermind-scanning.htm\">Remote MasterMind 3.0<\/a> device management software, businesses also can enroll and configure devices, track company assets and enforce strong password protection.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153When designing the Granit 191Xi, we relied on best practices and customer feedback to understand the need for durability in their unique working environments,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d said Larry Ramsey-Macomber, senior product manager for Honeywell Scanning &amp; Mobility. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153By utilizing customer feedback from the beginning of the design phase, we were able to address the durability portion of the\u00c2\u00a0value model without giving up the scan performance that Honeywell products are known to provide.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153We have scanned more than 140 million 2D and 1D symbols in our manufacturing plants for parts verification and traceability.
