The Epson solution has increased productivity due to less staffing required and fewer hours spent emptying and checking in boxes from other libraries to accommodate customer hold requests.<\/p>\n<p>Libraries have traditionally utilized a cumbersome, manual book reservation process involving rubber bands, scrap paper, masking tape and handwritten notes. This error-prone, outdated method has been updated with the Epson TM-T88 ReStick solution, which allows staff to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcodesinc.com\/cats\/labels\/custom.htm\">print labels<\/a> which can be applied to books without any damage or sticky residue. Using the ReStick solution has streamlined the book reservation process, cut back staffing requirements and increased overall productivity at circulation desks.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->&#8220;Since we started using the Epson ReStick printers, we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re checking in 1,200-1,500 more items daily since we don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have to stop to hand write the holds wrappers,&#8221; commented Tim Donaldson, Technical Services Manager at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westlakelibrary.org\/\">Westlake Porter Public Library<\/a> in Ohio. &#8220;In addition, Epson created custom firmware that enables our circulation staff to print wirelessly and network the printers, bypassing our integrated library system software and allowing us to customize the holds wrappers. We will definitely be ordering more.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;One of our libraries reports it went from two people taking two and a half hours to check in six boxes to one person taking only an hour and a half for the same work,&#8221; said Karla Smith, Automation Librarian at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;sqi=2&amp;ved=0CBQQFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.winnefox.org%2F&amp;rct=j&amp;q=Winnefox%20Library%20System&amp;ei=x2jITJiJHYm-sQOWjI3RDQ&amp;usg=AFQjCNGNHnD3ZGhL1PWt1jcnr76hMrB60A&amp;cad=rja\">Winnefox Library System<\/a> in Wisconsin. &#8220;We can do the labeling so much faster, the slips are readable, no more deciphering poor penmanship, and the patrons must think the hold labels are so professional that they belong on the books \u00e2\u20ac\u201c they don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t remove them when they return the books!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Using MAXStick\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 liner-free, biodegradable and recyclable labels with the Epson TM-T88 ReStick, libraries apply temporary labels on books to be reserved.
