Star Micronic’s SM-S230i Compact, High Speed Bluetooth Portable Printer
Star has announced the launch of their smallest portable printer. The SM-S230i is a compact, lightweight, high speed two inch Bluetooth and USB portable printer. The SM-S230i Bluetooth portable printer is compatible with all operating systems including Windows, Android, and iOS. With Apple MFi certification, the SM-S230i can easily connect and pair with the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
The SM-S230i is suitable for a wide range of mobile printing applications with no configuration changes required when switching between various operating systems. The clerk will be able to use the SM-S230i with an iOS, Android or Windows device with no set up required using its auto detection Bluetooth feature. This feature eliminates frustration caused from changing your settings when using devices with different operating systems. With an additional convenient connection option for USB 2.0, the SM-S230i can send fast transfer speeds of data and provide security with an easy plug-in USB cable.
Star’s New Mobile SM-L200 Printer
‘Always Leading-Always Innovating’ in cutting-edge technology, Star is proud to announce its SM-L200 two-inch Bluetooth low energy portable printer for the mobile point of sale industry. The SM-L200 supports BLE technology for all iOS mobile devices such as the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. Its compact and lightweight design make this two-inch portable printer perfect for a wide range of applications from queue busting in retail and hospitality to home delivery 58mm wide invoicing.
The SM-L200 is the first portable printer currently on the market which offers the ability to connect any Apple, iOS BLE compatible device without having to pair to it. With no limitation on the number of devices connected, BLE is the perfect solution for BYOD (bring your own device) environments that does not require any certification or prior authorization from your iOS operating system. Star’s New CD3 Series Cash Drawers
Star has announced its new ‘Tradition’ cash drawer series with the release of the CD3-1313 and CD3-1616 cash drawer models. The new cost effective cash drawers integrate seamlessly into any retail or hospitality environment with a standard printer communication interface and bottom exit cable, hidden from the customer’s view. With cash till options for both models, the CD3 traditional cash drawers can accommodate to Canadian, United States, and Latin American currency types of 3Bill-5Coin, 4Bill-5Coin for CD3-1313 and 4Bill-8Coin, 5Bill-8Coin for CD3-1616.
Features include a black stainless steel front drawer cover, dual media slots, and a three function lock system. The smooth black coated finish provides a unified appearance and complements the connected POS peripherals for merchants. The dual media slots provide extra storage for checks and large bills. For security, the key lock at front center allows for an easy manual release with a key or an electronic release.

Star’s New SM-L200 Mobile Printer
Star has announced the new release of a new 2-inch portable printer, the SM-L200.
The SM-L200 has some industry’s first features such like Bluetooth 4.0 communication and a 5V charge. Bluetooth 4.0 is a method of communication which uses the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology and allows users to communicate with iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) without MFi certification and configure Bluetooth connection (pairing) more easily. Its convenient 5V PC or smartphone charging via a Micro USB cable, which is normally used for consumer products such like smartphones, eliminates a need of the dedicated charging adapter and allows users to charge easily via a charger for a smartphone, a USB port of PC and a portable battery for a cell phone. The SM-L200 realizes the lowest price among Star portable printers and targets customers who focus on “low cost and high functionality” more than “print speed and communication speed”.
Star’s New AllReceipts Cloud-based Digital Receipt Solution
Star has announced the launch of its new free of charge digital receipting service, AllReceipts, offering the retailer a low cost and fast route to providing the customer with a digital copy of a printed receipt as well as access to analytics, an in-store customer survey and device management tools.
With zero development required, AllReceipts is enabled with the Star printer driver (TSP100 Series initially with more printers to follow) and works independently of a retailer’s POS software. Being stored and organised in the AllReceipts App on the customer’s mobile device, it eliminates the issues typically associated with email receipting including spam, taking a high quality photo of the receipt and privacy issues. The immediate advantage perceived by the customer is the choice to remain anonymous and yet still receive a digital copy of the receipt.
Star’s WebPRNT Browser Now Available on the iTunes App Store and Google Play
Star has released its WebPRNT Browser to extend Star’s WebPRNT technology for web based receipt printing to customers using Star’s portable and desktop receipt printers in a mobile environment using Bluetooth connectivity.
Star’s WebPRNT Browser allows you to print receipts or data from a web browser-based application running on a mobile device to a Star Bluetooth printer wirelessly. To begin, configure Star’s WebPRNT Browser to open the desired web-based application which supports WebPRNT and print to the desired Bluetooth printer. Once configured, the user simply pairs their mobile device to a Star Bluetooth printer, opens the application on Star’s WebPRNT Browser and prints from the application. Easy to set up for both application developers and end users, Star’s WebPRNT Browser combines the utility of WebPRNT’s webbased receipt printing technology with the simplicity of Bluetooth connectivity.
New Labels for the Star SM-T400i Portable Printer
Star has announced new direct thermal labels certified to work with the SM-T400i portable Bluetooth printer. As the widest format portable Bluetooth printer in Star’s “i” Series, the SM-T400i is a rugged four inch (112mm) portable Bluetooth printer with a wide 104mm printable area, ideal for data-filled service reports, delivery notes or law enforcement citations. The SM-T400i includes both transmissive and reflective sensors, enabling label printing.
The new printing options will help quickly and easily print labels ideal for government, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and shipping and receiving industry applications. With three thermal label sizes available in various heights, the SM-T400i can accommodate most labeling applications with the ability to print from virtually any device.
Star Announces Wi-Fi Capable DK-AirCash
Expanding the field for mobile point of sale solutions, Star introduced its DK-AirCash accessory for enabling secure cash payments in mPOS. Normally, cash drawers are manually operated or by a wired connection to a receipt printer. The DK-AirCash allows you to control a cash drawer directly through an Ethernet, Bluetooth, MFi certified Bluetooth, and now Wi-Fi connection. Star’s DK-AirCash makes “wireless” operation of an existing hard-wired cash drawer possible.
With Wi-Fi interface, Star’s DK-AirCash SAC10EW-24 US model is compatible with all devices running on Android, iOS, and Window platforms. The new Wi-Fi DK-Aircash will provide merchants the ability to use their cash drawer on a network without the hassle of running a cable to the cash drawer. This latest release of the DK-AirCash series will be another step forward in our cost effective way to upgrade your cash drawer’s compatibility for mPOS.
