SATO Awarded for 7th Consecutive Year at World Label Contest

SATO GL408e PrinterSato has been awarded two first prize awards in addition to the jury’s special award across three separate categories at the 25th World Label Contest. This is the seventh consecutive year Sato Printing has received awards.

In September 2013, the entries, organized by printing method into a total of 22 categories, were evaluated in the areas of design and printing capability by the contest organizing committee. Sato Printing won two awards in the letterpress category, where it received particular praise for its technical capabilities, and one award in the “Coupons/Others – All Printing Methods” category. In addition, the prize-winning label entered in this category is the first label the company has exhibited that was produced using digital printing. Sato received the award in this category partly due to the creativity it showed in using the features of digital printing, such as printing to the back adhesive side of the label, and including one design per layer in the two layers of the front side of the label.

Sato’s 802.11g Wireless Interface Update

SATO CL408e Barcode PrinterSATO continues to update the 802.11g wireless interface to support the latest WPA2 (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2) standards. This enhancement is available for both existing and new 802.11g WLAN plug-in interface option for SATO “e” series tabletop and print engine models, as well as the SATO CT4i and MBi series WLAN printer models.

SATO’s 802.11g WLAN interface provides enhanced security for those who need to ensure their wireless infrastructure and security protocols are able to integrate seamlessly with SATO printers. The SATO 802.11g WLAN option enables SATO printers to support the same speed and security that companies invested in when selecting 802.11g equipment for their networks. The SATO 802.11g interface supports WEP, and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise standards to ensure maximum data security.  Such enterprise-level security platforms enable SATO 802.11g wireless radio to support a variety of mobile applications, including point of sale, price markdowns, warehouse/logistics labeling, and more.

Eurotuin Chooses Sato’s GL4e Printers For Shop Automation

Eurotuin recently changed its labeling system and chose NedFox’s RetailVista software to update its shop automation.

Nedfox, a leading retail software vendor specializing in providing cost-effective, scalable software, has chosen to apply SATO’s GL4e printer to its RetailVista ERP software as it has the flexibility and scalability to meet the needs and growth of garden center businesses. Sato acquires Argox

Sato, a manufacturer of barcode printing, labeling and EPC/RFID products, has acquired Argox Information Co Ltd, a supplier of barcode printers, barcode scanners and portable terminals, making Argox a member of the Sato Group of Companies.

Founded in 1996, Argox became one of the world’s leading design and manufacturers of low cost and entry level thermal printers. Argox has focused on China, Brazil and Turkey, and is today tracking to become a main provider of auto-ID technology in countries such as India, Russia and South Africa.

SATO Corporation, with headquarters in Japan, was established in 1940 to manufacture and sell packaging machinery. In 1962, SATO was a pioneer in introducing one of the first hand-held labelers and established operations as an international supplier of labeling machinery. The U.S. subsidiary was established in 1977 and eventually became SATO America, Inc. in 1987. During that period, SATO developed the world’s first thermal transfer barcode printers for JAN/UPC/EAN POS systems and became the leader in applying the technology to the market.
