LXE VM1W2A2A1AUS0AA Data Terminal
LXE VM1 Thor Accessory Model Overview
Honeywell's Thor VM1 vehicle mount computer, the ideal forklift computer, outdoes the competition with design breakthroughs. In today's supply chain, the only constant is change. Disruptions, whether short-term like a forklift failure, or long-term like a natural disaster, are a fact of life. The supply chains best prepared to adapt to these disruptions will use mobile computing technology that gives them greater flexibility. The Thor VM1 vehicle mount computer (VMC), part of the tenth generation of VMC developed by Honeywell, provides unprecedented flexibility in a mobile computer.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Zebra FXR90 Ultra-Rugged Fixed RFID Reader?
The Zebra FXR90 is a fixed RAIN RFID reader built for harsh indoor and outdoor environments. It reads 1,300+ tags per second with a maximum receiver sensitivity of -92 dBm, supports the ISO 18000-6C (EPC Class 1 Gen2V2) air protocol, and is housed in a diecast aluminum body sealed to dual IP65 and IP67 ratings. It is TAA compliant.
The FXR90 is used for baggage tracking, cycle counting, item locating, cold chain and returnable transport object (RTO) tracking in transportation and logistics; work-in-process and raw materials tracking, pipeline and utility tracking and manufacturing automation; and kitting, asset tracking, vehicle asset control, chain of custody and personnel control in government.
Can the FXR90 be installed outdoors, and how rugged is it?
Yes. The Zebra FXR90 is dust-proof, spray-proof and waterproof under dual IP65 and IP67 sealing, and is designed to withstand weather extremes and daily wash-downs. Its operating temperature range is -40° F to 149° F (-40° C to 65° C) at 5–95% non-condensing humidity, with storage from -40° F to 185° F (-40° C to 85° C).
It is tested to MIL-STD-810 for vibration (Method 514, Procedure I) and altitude (Method 500), MIL-STD-810H Method 509.7 for salt fog, and IEC 60068-2-5 Procedure A for solar radiation. It withstands ±4 kV surge (EN 61000-4-5) and ±15 kV air and ±8 kV direct electrostatic discharge. Rugged sealed M12 connectors carry the external connections. This combination — particularly the salt fog and solar radiation testing and the -40° operating floor — is what separates the FXR90 from indoor-only fixed readers.
What read range does the FXR90's integrated antenna deliver, and what antenna configurations are available?
The Zebra FXR90 is offered in three antenna configurations: an integrated antenna model with four additional external RP-TNC ports, a four-port external RP-TNC model, and an eight-port external RP-TNC model. The integrated antenna is a proprietary 7 dBi design with a 72° beamwidth, allowing cable-free deployment.
Using the integrated antenna, nominal read range is 55 ft. (16.7 m) and maximum read range is 100 ft. (30.5 m) — Zebra notes the 100 ft. figure is achieved with a specific tag and setup, so treat it as a best case rather than a planning number. Write and encode range is considerably shorter at 15 ft. (4.5 m), which matters if the deployment writes to tags rather than only reading them.
Does the FXR90 require an Ethernet drop, or can it connect wirelessly?
The Zebra FXR90 does not require a wired connection. Alongside Gigabit Ethernet, it has Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax/ac/a/b/g/n, 2x2 MU-MIMO), Bluetooth 5.3 with BLE, 5G and 4G cellular, and CBRS built in, with one nano SIM slot and one eSIM. This allows deployment in remote or previously inaccessible areas without running an Ethernet cable.
Integrated GPS (GPS/GLONASS/BDS/Galileo/QZSS/GNSS) lets you tie tag reads to a physical location and attribute them to a specific customer or facility — useful for mobile and vehicle-mounted deployments. CBRS supports connection to a private network for wider low-latency coverage. Note the spec sheet states no Wi-Fi Alliance certifications are planned for this device, which may matter if your network policy requires certified equipment.
How is the FXR90 powered, and does the power source affect read performance?
The Zebra FXR90 offers six power options: direct 12 VDC to 24 VDC via flying leads wired to an electrical panel or vehicle battery, a Zebra AC/DC IP67 sealed supply for wet and dusty locations, a standard unsealed indoor AC/DC supply, a DC/DC IP67 sealed supply for vehicle power, a PoE+ injector (802.3at) and a PoE injector (802.3af).
The power source does affect RF output on the external antenna ports. All options except PoE 802.3af deliver 0–33 dBm conducted output in the US; on PoE (802.3af) that drops to 0–31.5 dBm. GPIO output capability also varies: +24 VDC input gives 24 VDC at 1 A, +12 VDC input gives 12 VDC at 250 mA, PoE+ gives 24 VDC at 250 mA, and standard PoE provides no GPIO output at all. Specify PoE+ or an external supply if you need GPIO to drive external devices.
How is the FXR90 managed and integrated with our systems?
The Zebra FXR90 runs Linux on an NXP iMX8 Mini Quad Cortex-A53 processor with 2 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 16 GB eMMC Flash. IoT Connector — a standard feature across Zebra's RFID readers and barcode scanners — gathers data from cloud-capable edge devices using standard IoT protocols and requires no coding to configure.
Security includes Transport Layer Security 1.2 and 1.3 and FIPS 140-2 cryptography. Network services cover DHCP, HTTPS, FTPS, SFTP, SSH, HTTP, FTP, SNMP and NTP across an IPv4 and IPv6 stack. For peripherals and control systems there are two USB host ports, a USB client port, and four GPIO inputs with four outputs. The reader ships with a flush mount and offers an articulating VESA mount that fits various pole sizes, including larger poles using hose clamps.
