The Zebra MC3330xR is an integrated handheld UHF/RAIN RFID reader that combines RFID, 1D/2D barcode scanning, NFC and a full Android computer in a single lightweight device. It is the next evolution of the MC3300R family, weighing 24 oz. (680 g) with handstrap and measuring 6.45 in. L x 2.95 in. W x 8.31 in. D (164 x 75 x 211 mm). It is built for one-handed use by right- or left-handed workers.

The MC3330xR is used for inventory and cycle counting, automatic replenishment, receiving and shrink control, omni-channel order fulfillment and item finding in back-of-store retail; asset management and tracking in data centers and offices; and cycle counting, critical asset management, item finding, pharmaceutical and laboratory inventory, and trunk stock sample inventory in healthcare.

The Zebra MC3330xR reads 900+ tags per second at a nominal read range of approximately 19.7+ ft. (6+ m), making it a standard-range RFID reader. Zebra states its high-performance ASIC radio delivers a read rate more than 25% faster and over 40% more accurate than other devices in its class, based on Zebra testing of specific use cases.

Its integrated circular polarized antenna reads tags reliably regardless of tag orientation. The reader supports EPC Class 1 Gen2, EPC Gen2 V2 and ISO-18000-63 standards across an 865–928 MHz frequency range at 0 dBm to +30 dBm output, with specific regional settings applied by country selection. Item Finder mode uses audible and visual cues to guide a worker to a specific tagged item.

The Zebra MC3330xR ships with Android 11 and is upgradeable to Android 14. Android 11 added more than 50 security and privacy improvements for IT departments.

Zebra LifeGuard for Android provides ongoing security updates for the life of the device in service, along with end-to-end control of the OS update process and built-in support for the next Android version. The device runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core 2.2 GHz processor with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB Flash, expandable via a user-accessible MicroSD slot supporting 32 GB SDHC and up to 512 GB SDXC cards.

The Zebra MC3330xR is specified for multiple 5 ft. (1.5 m) drops to concrete across its entire operating temperature range and 1,000 tumbles from 1.6 ft. (0.5 m). It carries IP54 sealing, which handles dust and splashing liquid but not directed water jets or submersion. Corning Gorilla Glass protects both the touch panel and the imager window — the two most damage-prone surfaces.

Its operating temperature range is -4° F to 122° F (-20° C to 50° C) at 5–95% non-condensing humidity, with storage from -40° F to 158° F (-40° C to 70° C). The sub-freezing operating range suits cold backrooms and receiving docks. It also withstands ±15 kV air and ±8 kV contact electrostatic discharge, and is rated for sine and random vibration and thermal shock.

Yes. The Zebra MC3330xR includes an SE4770 scan engine with LED aimer and Zebra PRZM Intelligent Imaging, which captures poorly printed, damaged, crinkled, faded, truncated and low-contrast barcodes. Its expanded working range and wide field of view let workers scan both near and far, and a single trigger press can capture multiple barcodes across one or more labels — useful for entire forms.

An integrated NFC reader enables split-second tap pairing with Zebra ring scanners, mobile printers and Bluetooth headsets, and supports tap-to-authenticate workflows where a worker logs into applications by tapping an employee ID badge.

Applications carry over too. The same software development kit covers the MC3330xR, MC3390xR, MC3330R, MC3390R, RFD2000 and RFD8500, so there is no need to learn a new framework or rewrite applications. Zebra's EMDK and RFID SDK for Xamarin let C# developers reuse existing RFID apps. Three keypad options — numeric (29 key), function numeric (38 key) and alphanumeric (47 key) — pair with a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) color display supporting finger, gloved finger and stylus input.
