The Fargo HDP5600 delivers 300 dpi (11.8 dots/mm) continuous tone printing with support for up to 16.7 million colors and 256 shades per pixel. This resolution provides superior text and image quality, making it ideal for high-definition ID card production in government agencies, universities, corporations, and healthcare facilities.

The HDP5600 includes a contact smart card encoder (Omnikey Cardman 5121) and supports iCLASS, MIFARE, and DESFire contactless encoding. It also features magnetic stripe encoding capability, making it a versatile all-in-one solution for multi-function smart cards and standard ID cards.

The printer accepts standard CR-80 cards (3.375˝L x 2.125˝W) and CR-79 adhesive back cards (3.313˝L x 2.063˝W), with a print area that extends edge-to-edge on CR-80 cards. It supports card thickness from .009˝ to .040˝ (9 mil to 40 mil), accommodating both PVC and polyester cards with polished finishes.

Print speed varies depending on ribbon configuration: 7 seconds per card for single-color resin black (K*), 12 seconds for black with overlay (KO*), 24 seconds for full-color (YMCKO*), and 31 seconds for full-color with dual black panels (YMCKOK*). Print speeds are measured from card drop to output hopper and do not include encoding time.

We offer multiple ribbon configurations including full-color with resin black and overlay (YMCKO*, 250 prints), full-color with dual black panels (YMCKOK*, 200 prints), fluorescent options (YMCFKO*, 200 prints), single-color black ribbons (1000 prints), and specialty colors like green, blue, red, white, silver, and gold. The printer also supports rewrite technology that requires no ribbon.
