The DTC550 offers variable print speeds depending on the color mode: 7 seconds per card for black only (K), 12 seconds for black with overlay (KO), 27 seconds for full-color (YMCKO), 36 seconds for full-color with dual black (YMCKOK), and 34 seconds with lamination. In batch mode, this translates to up to 514 cards per hour for black-only printing.

The DTC550 features USB 1.1 (USB 2.0 compatible) as standard connectivity and offers optional 10BASE-T Ethernet with an internal print server.
