Nice Performer, Unacceptable Fan Noise

Comments about Elo 15D1 E172406:
I love this form factor because there is no external power brick, and printers such as the Epson TM88 series can be powered off an interface, rather than their own power supply brick. This unit is a solid performer and we ordered ours without an OS and had Windows 7 Pro up and running with all drivers installed in less than 45 minutes. Now that we've had it up and running for a couple days installing and tweaking the retail software, we are finding that the small fans (the power supply fans specifically) make this unit unacceptable in any low noise environment or in any environment that a high-pitched (and variable frequency) whine is not welcome. We've disassembled the unit to determine which of the fan or fans is making the noise, and are actually considering changing out the power supply altogether. The motherboard is an Asus brand which we've come to respect for stability over the years. The display is pure Elo; rugged and solid to the touch. If noise isn't a problem, and you want a machine that is free of power supply bricks, we would recommend this unit in a heartbeat. If your environment is noise sensitive, pass on this model.
