Digi PortServer II Data Networking Model Overview
Digi's PortServer II is available in 16-port desktop and 16-port rack mount versions, each of which can be expanded up to 64 ports using Digi PORTS Modules. It supports dial-up and LAN-to-LAN connections for TCP/IP remote access to the internet over Fram Relay and analog lines. It offers support for SNMP MIB-II and Rlogin, Telnet and Reverse Telnet on each port. The incorporated Digi Port Authority-Remote gives users a management tool for monitoring network and serial activity from a Windows or UNIX-based client or server. It is an ideal solution for retail, industrial automation, process/quality control or any application that requires the connection of multiple serial ports over Ethernet.

The PortServer II high performance communications server allows you to connect clusters of high-speed serial ports to any TCP/IP Ethernet network. It suports asynchronous terminals, modems, printers and other serial devices. The PortServer II is hardware independent, allowing users to access any type of networked server supporting TCP/IP.
