What printing technology does the Fargo HDP6600 use?
The Fargo HDP6600 uses sixth-generation retransfer printing technology, which produces rich, vibrant, saturated color on cards. With retransfer printing, the printhead never contacts the card directly—instead, images are printed on a clear film that is fused to the card surface, enabling full-bleed printing even on uneven surfaces like smart cards and proximity cards.
How fast can the Fargo HDP6600 print ID cards?
The HDP6600 warms up in just 60 seconds and can print up to 230 cards per hour. This speed is powered by Fargo's patent-pending iON (instant on) technology, which significantly reduces warmup time compared to other retransfer printers and helps boost productivity for large batch printing.
Can the Fargo HDP6600 print on both sides of a card?
Yes, the HDP6600 supports dual-sided printing through an optional field-upgradable flipper module that you can add at any time. Dual-sided printing provides extra space for additional cardholder information, barcodes, contact details, or duplicated information for visibility regardless of card orientation.
What types of cards and supplies are compatible with the HDP6600?
The HDP6600 supports CR80 cards in thicknesses between 30 Mil and 40 Mil, and accepts standard retransfer film, high-durability retransfer film, or holographic retransfer film with high-secure orbit hologram designs. It is also compatible with all standard monochrome and color ribbon formats, giving you flexibility in choosing supplies that match your security and durability needs.
What security features does the Fargo HDP6600 offer?
Retransfer printing is inherently more secure and durable than other printing methods—if a counterfeiter attempts to peel apart the card layers, the image is destroyed. The HDP6600 prints at 600DPI resolution, allowing you to incorporate fine text and security features, and supports holographic retransfer film with high-secure designs to further reduce card replication risk.
What warranty and support does the Fargo HDP6600 include?
The Fargo HDP6600 comes with a 3-year manufacturer warranty and a lifetime printhead warranty to ensure your printer stays operational when you need it. We also offer a FREE 1 Year TrueSupport plan with the purchase of a 3 or 4 year True Support Plan to keep your system running smoothly.
