The DS3678-DP captures direct part marks (DPM) in all forms—including dot peen, laser etch, ink mark, chemical etch, inkjet mold, cast and thermal spray—regardless of size, surface, contrast or density. It also reads both 1D and 2D barcodes printed on labels in virtually any condition, including damaged, dirty, poorly printed or under shrinkwrap. Supported 1D symbologies include Code 39, Code 128, Code 93, Codabar/NW7, UPC/EAN, and GS1 DataBar, while 2D support includes PDF417, DataMatrix, QR Code, and Aztec.

The DS3678-DP is built to survive an 8 ft./2.4 m drop to concrete—23 percent more durable than any other scanner in its class. It operates reliably after 5,000 tumbles, simulating real-world drops. Both the scanner and cradle are dust proof, spray proof and waterproof to IP67, meaning they can be sprayed with jetting water and even submersed in water for up to 30 minutes.

The battery includes a first-in-its-class charge gauge and provides visibility into battery health data, including charge cycles consumed, current status, and a State of Health meter to identify when batteries are ready for retirement.

Yes, the DS3678-DP is built to handle extreme cold, heat and humidity, and can be used anywhere—even in the freezer. A heated scanner holder accessory is recommended to reduce condensation on the outside of the scan window when moving in and out of freezers.

Zebra's Network Connect for Automation also delivers seamless connection between the scanner and a manufacturer's Industrial Ethernet network without the need for third-party conversion equipment.
