Barcode Scanning
How does a barcode scanner work?
A barcode scanner emits a light source and reads the reflected light pattern from the barcode, converting it into data sent to your computer.

Most Bluetooth scanners have a range of up to 30 feet. Some extended-range models reach 200-300 feet.
Can I read a barcode off a screen?
Yes, with a 2D imaging scanner. Laser scanners cannot read from screens.
Is a laser scanner dangerous?
No. Barcode scanners use a Class 1 laser which is not harmful.
Can my scanner read a 2D barcode?
