The SP298 is the economical choice in serial dot matrix impact slip printers.

The SP298 is a serial dot matrix impact slip printer. Ideal for check validation, check franking, restaurant hard check, and document printing, the SP298 has been designed to fill a strong requirement from existing markets and customers. Unlike many existing slip printers, the Star Micronics SP298 slip printer is designed for user friendly operation. It features AutoSide Loading, making document loading quick, easy, and reliable. The SP298 employs a 9-pin serial impact printhead, top and bottom form sensors, easy ribbon loading, and stepping motor paper feed for reliable paper handling and graphics. OPOS drivers available.

Comments about Datamax-O-Neil Ribbons 295902 :

I was having trouble getting clear, dark, crisp results when printing on a new transparent polyethylene label. Our sales rep recommended using a wax-resin ribbon, as opposed to the resin only ribbon I was using. The results were much better with the wax-resin type ribbon. Prints much clearer, doesn't appear faded. Of course, the barcodes scan much more easily now.
