Panasonic's new WV-NP244 network camera which is both MPEG-4 and JPEG digital signal compatible is a handy solution for network surveillance applications.

With its new WV-NP244 network camera Panasonic offers an outstanding network surveillance solution using MPEG-4 and JPEG dual streaming. Thanks to MPEG-4 for smooth and seamless video and is multicast/unicast switchable to fit your application. using JPEG, 640 x 480 (VGA) images can be transmitted up to 30fps. With progressive scan in both MPEG-4 and JPEG modes, images of moving subjects are captured clearly. Equipped with PoE (Power over Ethernet) IEEE802.3af, WV-NP244 allows power and signals to be transmitted over the same cable, thus eliminating the need to install a separate power source for each camera. With the optional F1.4 lens, this camera operates in lighting as low as 1.5 lux (0.15fc). Electronic sensitivity can be increased up to 16 times and 3x digital zoom allows for a closer look. A high sensitivity microphone is an added built-in feature, allowing for crisp, clear sound.
